Join us at The Pittsburgh home & Garden Show 2018

EAS Roofing is proud to be apart of The Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show for the 6th consecutive year. This year we will have two booths, 1918 & 2802, that our homeowners can come by and learn about our company. On the second floor of the show, Dr. Lori, expert appraiser of Auction Kings, will be returning to appraise antiques, and can appraise your collectables. Duquesne Light has an aisle decorated as if you are outside, with trees and lights that flash and move. They will be educating attendees on how to reduce their energy bills. Numerous mattress manufacturers such as Sleep Number and R.E.M Sleep Solutions will have sample pillows and mattresses you can try out before buying. If your in need of a message, there will be massage chairs available for sampling. If you have a sweet tooth during the show, Cakery Square will have their famous cupcakes at their booth. Along with other snacks, spreads and dips, Arrowhead Winery will also have samples of their wines and ciders for guests 21 and older. A:This is a popular question we get asked. You want to know what makes our company different from the other 50 roofers in the area. Look for investments, such as vehicles and equipment. For example we have invested in a machine called the Equipter a few years back. We were so happy with the machine and so where our homeowners that we invested in another this year. We have also invested in 2 vans strictly for service repairs. They are equipped and loaded with all the material needed to do the most common roof repairs. We also have invested in 3 work trucks for our project managers to work out of. Whether your buying a new home or you have questions about your existing roof there are some visual issues you can look for.

The shingles, for starters, are the most visual part of your roof. When the shingles are old or go bad a few things can happen. They can become loose or cracked. Missing shingles are a huge factor in the condition of your roof. If you have missing shingles the underlayment or wood can be exposed, letting moisture into your attic. Wavy or curled shingles are also an issue, this could mean that there isn't proper ventilation through your attic, causing your shingles to age prematurely. Also if you look into your gutters and see shingle granules, this means the shingles are old loosing their protective layer and could also lead to leaks inside your home. Other visual issues would be any cracked caulking, worn vent pipes or moss growing on the roof. Moss growing on the roof is a sign that the wood underneath the roof may be decaying.

Visual roofing issues that would be seen on the inside of the house are dark ceiling spots, which indicate a leak into the home through the roof.
